We are saddened to report the death of the 46th women by known or presumed male violence in Australia in 2016.
A 35 year old woman, Nasrin Abek, was found murdered inside her Potts Point apartment in Sydney on Thursday 29 September.
Police believe Nasrin was killed following an argument with her husband & suffered a number of wounds. In the lead-up to her violent death, the Sydney hairdresser was allegedly stalked by her husband, and on Wednesday he allegedly finally caught up with her and killed her inside their Potts Point unit.
Her husband, Amir Darbanou, 42, On Friday, appeared briefly before Central Local Court, charged with one count of murder. He did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.
We extend our deepest condolences to Ms Abek’s family and friends.
