This is a count of women killed by known or suspected male violence in a Australia, jointly undertaken by Reclaim the Night Perth and Women Shout Out Australia.
Ms Karen Belej, 31, was found dead at her Montana Avenue home in Cardross, Victoria shortly after 7.30pm on Sunday1st May.
Ms Belej was a Human Resources Officer for Mildura Rural City Council where she was a White Ribbon advocate and was at the forefront of the council’s push to become a White Ribbon accredited workplace.
A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is assisting police with inquiries. The death is being treated as suspicious.
Condolences go to Ms Belej’s family and friends.
UPDATE: Brandon Osborn has been charged with the murder of Ms Belej, his girlfriend.
