This is a count of women killed by known or suspected male violence in a Australia, jointly undertaken by Reclaim the Night Perth and Women Shout Out Australia.
On 9 April 2016, an unnamed woman (38) was found dead at a campsite in Bladensburg National Park, Qld. An unnamed man (39) believed known to the woman has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed. Both the woman and the man are from Kununurra, Western Australia. Investigations into the woman’s death are continuing and police are awaiting the outcome of a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
UPDATE: the man charged in relation to this death is being reported as the victim’s partner.
