#65 – Man Murders Woman 2016

In Memory Man Murders Woman 2016

We are sad and angry to report the death of the 65th woman from known or presumed male violence.
On 20th December 2016, man in his 40s allegedly stabbed a 33 year old woman, reportedly his former partner, while in mediation in the Joondalup Courthouse, in Perth’s northern suburbs.
Unarmed police officers who were present on unrelated matters arrested the Quinns Rocks man who has since been charged with murder.
Mediation is a mandatory element of family court processes, unless an exemption is granted by the court.

While Perth’s CBD court has airport style security measures, suburban courts are reportedly only staffed with security guards.
