This is a count of women killed by known or suspected male violence in a Australia, jointly undertaken by Reclaim the Night Perth and Women Shout Out Australia.
It is with much sadness we report the murder of the 32nd woman to male violence in Australia this year.
A woman, unnamed at this stage, was found dead in her Port Fairy home by her family members on 22 June 2016 after allegedly having been badly injured in a brutal domestic violence incident by her partner the previous weekend.
A 31 year old man, the victim’s partner, has been charged with recklessly causing serious injury, other assaulted-related offences and breaching an intervention order.
Our hearts go out to the victim’s family & friends.
